a time for everything

"There is a time and place for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven." Ecc 3:1

I finally finished my mid-terms!! Got back the one on Consumer behavior and praise God, I got 94.5/100 for it. It really has to come from God as I went to Chicago the weekend before and didn't have time to study for the exam til the day before. God truly blesses not because we deserve it but because He desires to. Thank You Lord.

Even though the exams are over, there's still a ton of work left to be done. Readings. Assignments. Reflection papers. Projects. Tests. Reviews. An unending stream. But while it appears to never end, the verse above reminds me that there is a specific time for a specific thing to be done or to happen.

Have to confess that I haven't been very regular with my small group and lifegroup sessions. Upon reflection, realized that they were opportunities for me to show others what my priorities were/should be, and I missed it. I had put God before my grades/pleasure. And it was wrong. There is never a better time to praise God than the present. It's in the little things, like telling Him you love Him, or thanking Him for keeping the sun out all day.

Fall is here. The leaves are changing and the weather is turning colder every day. I could see my own breath as this morning on my way to breakfast. This change in season serves as a reminder that we are never stagnant. Things are constantly changing, in a cycle.

Due to our fallen nature, we each go through times of spiritual saturation and spiritual dryness. This could be by choice or due to a season of growth. In this uncertain world, as Lilian wrote in her blog, the only 2 things that we can count on are: 1) God, His Word and His unchanging nature, and 2) change is constant.

As we go on in life, studying, working, making decisions that affect our very short stint on earth, we have a choice to make: to hold on to God, the only anchor, or to simply float about and let life's cycles overwhelm us. If we choose to hold on to God, we next need to make a conscious effort daily to put Him first, above everything else, no matter how big or small.

So Lord, I choose to anchor myself with You. Please remind me of this decision I've made every single day and give me the strength and ability to arrange everything around You and what You want. Thank You for the little things. I love You. Amen.

+ AMEN
