legally blond (or brunette in my case)

Tuesday: It has been an incredible day for me. Have been so busy completing my homework the past 2 days and today was the ultimate experience. Am presently doing a course on auditing. Didn't have class last Tue as the Professor went out of town to do a workshop for KPMG. Because of that, she gave us extra assignments which were due at 630pm today. To add to that, I had to hand up a journal entry for my project under Consumer Behaviour and research on how gender influences media coverage of high profile criminal cases for Gender Studies. On top of that, had a few chapters of readings as well. All for the classes on Tue. Of course my tendency to procrastinate resulted in getting started late on Sunday.

By God's grace and mercy alone, I managed to finish up all my work, hand it up in class, do my readings and participate in the discussions. He some how made time slow down and made me more efficient and productive. Now at the end of the day, I am extremely satisfied, having felt challenged in all my courses. There is a great feeling of satisfaction, knowing that I completed something and learnt new things in the process. I guess after my internship, my brain has been in shutdown mode til it got kick started today.
And I love it!!

God gave Man the command to work so as to give us purpose and direction in life. It is through working that we are able to see His lil' wonders in our lives. The favour we get from colleagues or teachers. The grace to complete assignments or projects on time having had to work with limited resources. By working, we can each see our own limitations, areas that we are lacking in, portions of ourselves that need His presence and loving touch to be complete. And that is His way of loving us, by showing us that His way is best. We can only be our best in Him. Thank You Lord for that.

For my class on Gender Studies, my Professor, Sheila, got us to go out, conducting class on a grass patch in the middle of school. She said the weather was too good to stay indoors. The grass is so green and it doesn't make you itch, unlike the kind we have in Singapore and the sun warm and inviting. It was just like a scene in the movie, Legally Blonde, where Elle met her study group in Harvard for the first time. It is so beautiful, to be in nature, His creation. Believe that this encouraged creativity and we had a very fruitful discussion on how gender influences how media reports on a situation.

The past few days, there have been times when I had to step back and say, "Wow, I'm really here in Boston, away from all that is familiar to me." While there are some emotions of sadness and longings for home, I rejoice in the opportunity to be here. In the short 3 plus weeks I've been here, I've become more independent and less fearful of the unknown. This new found confidence and adaptability must be gifts from God and I look forward to the infinitely more new things He has in store for me. Thank You God for being faithful, loving and kind. Thank You for being You.

+ AMEN
