student of Bentley college

Hey guys, yes, I'm finally here in Bentley College!!! First, want to thank each and every one of you who sent me off. You guys made the trip less intimidating and reminded me that I am loved back in Singapore. Thanks also for the gifts. Vicki the teddy bear and Honey is sitting on top of my desk, the scarf from Eli is in the closet, waiting to be used and I've been writing in the diary from Mei. Still haven't found a chance to use the chopsticks from you though Adelene. :) The flight was long and tiring but experienced God's goodness during the whole thing. Managed to catch some sleep, watch some movies and eat some food on the plane. Didn't get lost during the transit and everything went smoothly. Got to the hotel in 1 piece and stayed in a really nice room.

Was really homesick when I got to the hotel room and started to tear as I thought about everyone back home. Called my parents and sis. Talked to them for a bit, read my bible then went to sleep. Did get a few hours of sleep before waking up at 7. By God's grace, could use skype to talk to my family and Jacinta over wireless internet. Believe that the wireless is made available by God as the previous night, it couldn't work. The amazing thing was that I could only use the wireless to skype, couldn't access my email or anything else! My Father knew I needed to talk to my family, to see them on camera. He knew my needs. Thank you so much God!! Another funny thing is that during the whole time, even though I feel homesick, I know in my spirit that I am not alone and there is tremendous peace in my heart. The Holy Spirit is always with me. Praise His name!

Called my buddy, Kristen, and she came to pick me up from the hotel. She is such an angel, helping me with the checking in, carrying of my luggage and introducing me to her friends. Such a warm and bubbly person, very special. Thank God for her as I without her, I would feel more lost and stuff. Was assigned a single room in a suite with 7 roommates. Am very happy with it as it gives me some form of privacy.

Since moving onto campus, have unpacked my things and settled my computer. Can now access the internet so will try to update my blog as often as possible. Been meeting new people through the activities organized by the university. I'm the only one from NTU here. Found out last night that the girl who was supposed to come with me had problems with her visa so... Was slightly disappointed at first that there isn't a Singaporean with me here but am now choosing to take it as a God-given opportunity to learn new things, to just step out of my comfort zone, make new friends, understand their culture and open my mind to different perspectives.

Have yet to attend church service. Decided to join the on-campus Christian Fellowship. Unsure when their activities will begin though. Will go for service held in college this Sunday and hope to attend a proper church service with Victoria the following week.

Still suffering from jet-lag and don't really like the food here. But I'm doing fine and reading God's word. Am constantly reminded to be a light for Him and to stand strong in my values, keeping myself pure for Him. In the midst of finding out what that truly means. Pray that God will continue to keep me strong and show me how I can honor Him in the things I do.
